What is a hackathon?
Hackathons are where thoughts become things, collaborating, coding and creating literally anything. Attendees work in teams of up to four people to create a hack, web, app, hardware or anything.
When is Hack UPC?
Registration for Hack UPC will open at 6:00PM and start at 9:30PM Friday February 19st until the morning of the 21st.
No need to worry! Part of the fun of a hackathon is meeting new people. We will have time at the beginning of the event for everyone to meet and form teams.
What can I build?
Web, mobile, hardware, anything is on the table. Projects will be judged based on creativity, technical difficulty, polish and usefulness by a panel of industry judges and UPC faculty.
Where is it being held?
Hack UPC will take place in UPC's North Campus FIB buldings (A6 and A5) in sunny Barcelona, Spain.
Who can attend?
Students from universities and high schools from all around the world.
How much does it cost?
Hack UPC is free for all accepted hackers. We provide you WiFi, meals, swag, and workspace. We also have a limited number of travel scholarships - up to 50€ if you're traveling from outside of Barcelona
What should I bring?
All attendees must bring a valid ID for admission. Other common checklist items include: laptops, sleeping bags, chargers and toiletries. If you want to shower, bring a towel!
How big can teams be?
Teams of up to four are welcome. You can also hack solo if you want!
